In our SEMA coverage we snapped a few shots of Dakota Digital’s hybrid gauges. Although they are not Scion related they were pretty cool and any automotive enthusiasts would appreciate to be exposed to what is available. Pre-SEMA Scion Art Gallery

Snaps: E. Camanag

For the past few years’ Scion has put on a pre-SEMA show that displayed their SEMA projects in a gallery type setting. In Culver City, a city west of LA, a warehouse style building with an art deco feel was the home of the Scion party. Hors d’œuvre and drinks made its round as our very own Edwin was able to catch some of the main attraction. A few builders and companies were on hand such as president Kenji Sumion from GReddy along with Jack Hollis, Scion’s vice-president. We spoke with Mr. Sumion for their inspiration on GReddy’s T67 powered tC and he said ,” the concept was to build the ultimate street car.” Check out the pictures and you can see why.

We have always been a big fan of The Tjin Brother’s creations, from their stable of once red to bright blue tC, dual-tone brown xB’s, Ralph Lauren xB, dual-tone 240, grey Volvo, and a list of others. I can’t type out their impressive resume but a simple Google search will easily give you a synopsis of what they do. You will find that these guys push the envelope in terms of design, trends, and style. They were one of, if not the first to dismantle a set of HRE’s to color-match the lips. Who does that to those? They DO! With massive low offsets on their cars, especially the ER34 Skyline, chocolate brown xB’s, and blue tC, they were wide and slammed before Hella and Flush were a term. Among the aggressive stance they have incorporated amazing technology and techniques into their builds such as air-jacks, full custom roll cages, raised shock towers, gold and silver leafing, and many other unique touches that blend form, function, and styling from different eras. Styling, that no one dared to even try on modern day import vehicles.
