O.M.T. or “one more time” is a phrase chanted by fans and judges during a tandem battle during a drift competition that is too close to determine a winner and deserves another run.
The first 86fest was such a popular event that I’m sure everyone was screaming “one more time” and the end of the event. And after months and months of planning, Antonio Alvendia, (@antoniosureshot) of MotorMavens and crew gave the world what they all wanted, 86fest2!
This year’s 86fest was even bigger than last year, it actually was spread to a two day event with the first day being a Dynamic Driving Academy for track enthusiasts and the next day (this day) the main event with spectators able to check out vendors, displays, cars on the track, and win prizes. There was even a Speed&Stance Pre-Meet going on at the same time.
With so much going on for an event of this magnitude, we knew it was going to take a little while to get situated, but we were able to get the perfect spot and propped up the DaYUUM! booth up front next to MotorMavens. We had a good view of the entire event, which helped me plan my attack of shooting through all the 86’s. Right in front of us was a the Turn14 display with a nice blend of the cleanest AE86’s and FR-S around.
Of course, Ken Gushi (@kengushi) would be at 86fest and with his drift FR-S, but this gem is his brand new, personal Scion 10 series FR-S.
All the vendors brought out all shapes and sizes of FR-Ss proudly displaying their products. With the amount of parts available, the imagination is endless. Oh hey, its RJ (@rjdeslate)! I’ll get back to this SE Alumni member again later…
Can’t ever miss this FR-S by Mackin Industries with a custom blue paint job and bright…I mean BRIGHT…orange Gram Lights.
I hate all the steps I have to take just to jack up part of my own lowered car, just imagine what Kenji and Cusco, USA. had to do to get his beauty up there.
FRS86 always going hard at events. Young (@young_tea) was at the AEM booth, but stayed close to this brother Meng (@m_tea) and Noel (@canibeatnoel) at the OEM Audio+ booth, which also included the boss’s car.
Speaking of the boss, Sandy (@oemodio1) just freshly back from a Japan with Moto (@moto_club4ag) after visting their version of 86fest, decided to get some shots here with some beautiful Geisha models. Yup, that’s the lovely Marissa Hiroko (@marissahiroko) always looking pretty.
MV Designz wasn’t too far either. Their builds are always wild, but super clean. Take a look at the Kogi Scion xD, looks simple, but is has a working grill, sink, and refrigerator! The ultimate BBQ car. And right next to it, Daniel Song’s
(@danielksong05) SEMA2012 GT86 FR-S. My idea of a clean, yet track ready “precision instrument of speed and aerodynamics” hehe 🙂
SuperStreet’s green beast FR-S is always a nice sight to see, even more interesting when it’s driver Jonathan (@jdmwong) was wearing a matching green shirt as well. By “coincidence” I should add…(sure Jonathan, whatever you say…)
Let’s take some time to step away from 86fest to see those stationed at the Speed&Stance Pre-Meet.
We positioned ourselves with some prime parking up front with Phaze2 and DaYUUM. And yup that’s RJ’s tC at the end with body glitter and all. He’s even rocking his SE sticker for the day to fit in with us. Always great to post up next to and old friend.
I’m not sure how much bigger the even can get and be able to fit at the AutoClub Speedway, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens next year. One more time?!
